Representando países com logos

16/06/2008 – 16:26

“These are the tourism brands from some countries from all over the world.
Symbol, colors, arrangement, form and typography are elements that can play a role in defining an ownable and memorable brand identity. This sounds straightforward, but many countries with a variety of destinations or rich cultural or geographic assets can’t easily be depicted through one specific icon. Natural characteristics, regional animals or architectural landmarks may not serve as a comprehensive symbolic representation of a nation and all that it offers. Perhaps this is why some countries, as seen in this range of brands, default to their national flag or other abstract elements to create a sense of distinction.

If you know any country brand that isn’t listed here. Let us know!

  9. I think the best one up there is the bahamas and argentina.

Dubai’s is horrible! Trying to make arabic type conform to a heart shape is lame! Qatars kicks ass in comparison, good arabic typography by Tarek Attrissi design from the netherlands.check him out here

  13. Is there one for the United States?

Also, I’d like to add, most of those up there look to be composed of crappy clip art. Especially Canada’s and honestly, what’s with all of the super vivid colour and sloppy brushwork typefaces? Surely ALL international tourist stops can’t be rustic tropical artisans ala the Caribbean.

Love Spain, France, Greece, Qatar, Slovakia, the Bahamas, and Brazil.

By John Moore on May 11, 2009

  75. Venezuela…
It is sad to see that my country has such a horrible logo, having excellent designers of international renown. The Ministry of Tourism, as six years ago, made a public call to which I participated, spent the closing date where they should declare the winner and no one knew, then I got a mysterious email (rather than public) where they said that the contest had been deserted because none have design quality-offensive response. Months after appeared that monster and outraged unfortunately represent this beautiful country.
Sadly this logo I am told was created with clip art of letters, even the “red”, which weighs both the ruling party, this is red … red? is a kind of dirty. Off without grace or personality. Someone assumed that “that” was identity.
Who knows who would be so irresponsible that he and the other was adopted.
The old Red logo in condensed letters was banned by the government, if it ever was blue (not remember) has always appeared in red.
Established that my opinion is merely a technical description of what happened.
